just-deodorant

There are few things more controversial in health and beauty world than safety of deodorants and their impact on our skin. Over the past decade, roll-ons, sprays, antiperspirants, gels and solid deos have been an apple of discord among scientists, beauty therapists and magazines flashing regular headlines about selfcare and societal norms on the one end, and horror stories of risks and dangers of anything that may help eliminate sweat. However, deodorants are still an essential part of our routine.

We decided to weigh in on this topic and asked our team of scientists and researchers at Just Swiss why our customers love Just roll-on and spray deodorants and what makes those safe and effective.

We found, there are two types of antiperspirants (which is the correct word for products that inhibit sweating) based on your specific needs. Those who produce regular amounts of sweat may benefit from aluminium-free antiperspirants. They are considered very safe and are less likely to cause irritation or razor burn. Those who are prone to excessive perspiration (also known as hyperhidrosis) may choose to stick to the more traditional deodorants containing higher concentrations of aluminium salts.

So what do customers look for when choosing a deodorant? First and foremost, eliminating odour of sweat during the day and particularly, during workouts. That’s why we created Deo Roll-On Mallow and Edelweiss. The natural ingredients in the deodorants protect from unpleasant odour for hours, even for those who tend to sweat excessively.

Next, deodorants should not irritate skin after hair removal. Edelweiss and Mallow are known for their anti-irritant effect and are sensitive skin’s best friends.

And lastly, stains form antiperspirants are your worst enemies, particularly in the morning rush. Just Swiss roll-ons don’t leave stains if you let them dry for a couple of minutes before getting dressed. Neither do they leave stains on clothes when mixed with sweat during workouts.

Most importantly, Just Swiss deodorants are natural and don’t have the overwhelming smell that most mass market antiperspirants do.

Fun fact: first deodorant was patented in late 1800s. It was called Mum and used zinc oxide to fight odour. Until then, most women used perfume to combat the smell.
